Frequently asked questions

Is cotton good for hot, humid weather?

100% cotton twill is one of the best fabrics for hot, humid climates
like India's because its natural fibers allow air to circulate freely
and absorb moisture instead of trapping it against your skin. The
diagonal twill weave adds structure while keeping the fabric
breathable, so you stay cooler and sweat evaporates rather than
sitting on the fabric.

What's the difference between cotton twill and poplin shirts?

Cotton twill has a diagonal weave that makes it thicker, more durable,
and slightly textured, giving it a refined, structured look that holds
its shape well. Poplin uses a tighter, flat weave, making it lighter,
smoother, and crisper — ideal for formal wear. Twill is better for
everyday wear since it resists wrinkles better, while poplin suits
dressier occasions where a clean, sharp finish matters more.

What's the best fabric weight (GSM) for everyday shirts?

For everyday shirts, a GSM between 160 and 220 offers the best balance
of comfort and durability. Lighter fabrics under 120 GSM wear out
faster and can be see-through. Heavier fabrics above 220 GSM can be
too warm for hot climates. SECOO's cotton twill shirts sit in the
mid-range, making them a practical all-season choice.

Are SECOO shirts true to size?

SECOO shirts are designed to fit true to standard Indian sizing. We
recommend checking the size chart on each product page and measuring
your actual chest and shoulder width before ordering. If you are
between sizes, sizing up is generally recommended for a more
comfortable classic fit.

How do I know if a men's shirt fits properly?

A well-fitted shirt has the shoulder seam sitting exactly at the edge
of your shoulder bone, not sliding down your arm or pulling toward your
neck. The chest and waist should allow free movement without excess
bunching. Sleeves should end at your wrist bone, and the collar should
fit two fingers comfortably between it and your neck.

How should I wash a cotton shirt so it doesn't shrink or fade?

Wash cotton shirts in cold water on a gentle cycle to prevent shrinking
and colour fading. Turn inside out before washing. Avoid bleach and
high-heat tumble drying. Dry in shade rather than direct sunlight, as
UV exposure fades colours faster. A warm iron on the reverse side keeps
the fabric crisp.

What's the difference between slim fit, classic fit, and regular fit?

Slim fit tapers in at the waist and sits closer to the body, suiting
leaner builds and a more tailored look. Classic fit runs straighter
from chest to waist, offering more room for everyday comfort and
flattering a wider range of body types. If you are unsure, classic fit
is the safest choice for most body types.
